aanin! Boozhoo!

My name is Kira Doxtator. My family comes from Bkejwanong First Nation, Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, and Oneida of the Thames.

I am a film director and independent producer based on the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. My work centres Indigenous storytelling through both creative production and community-driven initiatives that support emerging artists and collaborative filmmaking practices.

I graduated in 2024 from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema Studies and a minor in Indigenous Studies. Alongside my creative practice, I bring extensive experience in youth arts programming, community-based initiatives, and organizational leadership, and currently serve as the youngest Board Member of the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN).

As a producer, I focus on supporting thoughtful, well-executed productions that elevate Indigenous and underrepresented voices while building a growing slate of narrative work through my emerging production company, Native Key Creative.

I welcome collaboration and conversation — feel free to reach out directly or explore my work to learn more about the projects and communities that shape my practice.
